Who we are

Peter and Eve Engelbrite

Back in the 90’s Peter was the software designer and manager for AOP in Arizona. Eve was looking for a phonics program to start homeschooling our son, and she got an idea which, after a year or two of work, became Color Phonics. The product won awards and helped many children learn to read. Eve obtained a patent for the “color-assonant phonetics system”. Assonance is vowel rhyme, like “two new blue shoes”.

With a few added improvements (new patent pending), the color-assonant phonetics system of Color Phonics is now Prism Phonics.

Eve wrote several children’s stories then, but at that time four-color printing was too expensive, and now it isn’t. So now we’re publishing them. But as a teacher, Eve also wanted to provide resources for parents and teachers to help their learners get more valuable lessons from the books.

Eve is the primary owner of this business while still teaching school online. Eve is a Texas certified teacher in ESL (English Second Language), high school math and social studies, gifted and talented, and more.

“I’m jealous of my high school students who are taking courses in Entrepreneurship and Business.”

Peter suffered his first stroke in 2019. Instead of being able to write 100 lines of code in an hour without errors, it took him a day or two or three.

Here he is pictured in his bed in rehab after his second stroke in 2026.

A few days after this picture was taken he asked for his desktop computer and table to be placed in his room, and whether or not he should make a PC version of his Gardens in Oz phone game.
