Who we are
Peter and Eve Engelbrite
Back in the 90’s Peter was the software designer and manager for AOP in Arizona. Eve was looking for a phonics program to start homeschooling our son, and she got an idea which, after a year or two of work, became Color Phonics. The product won awards and helped many children learn to read. Eve obtained a patent for the “color-assonant phonetics system”. Assonance is vowel rhyme, like “two new blue shoes”.
With a few added improvements (new patent pending), the color-assonant phonetics system of Color Phonics is now Prism Phonics.
Eve wrote several children’s stories then, but at that time four-color printing was too expensive, and now it isn’t. So now we’re publishing them. But as a teacher, Eve also wanted to provide resources for parents and teachers to help their learners get more valuable lessons from the books.
